Sparklers are hand held fireworks that slowly burn with sparks, coloured flames or other effects. Moving them quickly creates nice patterns and they are most popular around the 5th of November (bonfire night). One of the best things about them is that they are an inexpensive and fun way to entertain children aged five and over (under adult supervision).

Keep a bucket or container of water handy to put the sparklers in once they have been used. Remember that even though sparklers are great fun, they burn at over 1000 degrees! It is advised that children wear gloves whilst using sparklers.
