Slices

Slice Fireworks

A slice is a single row of tubes, essentially a firework cake cut down to one line. Instead of a deep barrage, you get a wide spread of effects across the front of your display from a piece that takes up very little ground. That's why slices have become a favourite for anyone building a proper show.

Firing Styles

Slices come in three main styles, and each gives a different look across the sky:

  • Z-firing slices have angled tubes that sweep one way then back again, giving a criss-cross zig-zag across the front.
  • Fan slices spread their effects in a sweeping fan from left to right.
  • Simultaneous slices fire every tube at once for a wide wall of effect and real instant impact.

Built for Sequences and Pyromusicals

Because each slice fires along a single line, they're ideal for building sequences. Set a few out along your front and fire them one after another to create sweeps, layer your timings and fill the width of your display. It's exactly why slices are used so much in pyromusicals and choreographed shows.

Hand Lit or Fired Electronically

Every slice comes fitted with visco fuse, so it can be lit by hand straight out of the box. They're also ideally suited to electronic firing systems. Fit each one with an e-match and you can fire to precise cues, timing your sweeps and layers to the music far more tightly than you ever could by hand.

F2 and F3 Slices

Our range includes both F2 and F3 slices, so there's something for a back garden as well as a larger open space. Safety distances vary from product to product, so always check the category and minimum spectator distance on each listing before you buy. All fireworks are sold to over-18s only.

Slices FAQs

What is a slice firework?

A slice is a single row of tubes, like a firework cake cut down to one line. It gives a wide spread of effects from a compact piece, which makes it ideal for building sequences in a show.

What's the difference between Z-firing, fan and simultaneous slices?

Z-firing slices sweep in a zig-zag criss-cross, fan slices spread their effects from left to right, and simultaneous slices fire every tube at once for a wide wall of effect.

Can I light slices by hand?

Yes. Every slice comes with visco fuse, so it can be lit by hand like any other cake.

Can I use slices with a firing system?

Yes, they're ideally suited to it. Fit an e-match to each slice and you can fire them on precise cues, which is how sequences and pyromusicals are put together.

Are slices F2 or F3?

We stock both. Check the category and minimum safety distance shown on each product before buying.
